NHS 24 is a confidential telephone health advice and information service available across Scotland. NHS 24 works in partnership with local NHS Boards out-of-hours services to provide patients with health advice and help when GP practices are closed.

To communicate the core values of NHS 24 across the organisation in an innovative way and at the same time improve employee relations and staff morale via an internal communication campaign.
We designed a series of six posters, one for each core value, to be rolled out over a six month period. Following discussion with the management team, we created posters using an illustrative style. In order to gain commitment to implement the values throughout the organisation all staff were encouraged to participate in the design of the posters. A monthly competition allowed staff to submit their concepts of how to illustrate each core value. Dunning Design judged the entries and then worked with the winner to produce the value poster that was then displayed throughout the regional NHS 24 call centres in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The feedback from the competition has demonstrated that staff are taking on board the values and are eager to participate in the roll out of the internal communication campaign.
